Today I had Bill and Greg from Guardian Automotive hosted by Doug Lubs of Lubs Technologies. The day started off pretty slow but the walleyes started to snap around 9:00 am. We had 24 Walleye and 6 smallmouth bass. Our fish weighed in at 64 pounds anchored by a 7lb 4oz fish caught by Doug.

Darby day
Monday, May 1, 2006, 12:30 AM

Saturday night was very rough we had 4 to 6 foot waves and a hard east wind. We did manage to bring in 13 walleye and this nice 3 pound 11 ounce smallmouth picured above, which was one of about 3. Sunday was a better day, the wind came more out of the south and wasn't as strong. We managed to catch 27 walleye and a few smallies, but it took us all day. Thanks guys for great trip and we will see you in the fall for some great smallmouth action. The fish we caught came in 12 to 14 feet of water about 2 miles out of the Portage river on the darby.

Fast action to slow action
Friday, April 21, 2006, 11:08 PM

Last evening was the best I have seen it this year. We took 27 walleye on one drift, I couln't even fish, they were coming into the boat so fast. Today on the other hand was quiet a bit slower, it took us all day to boat 18 fish. I guess that is why they call it fishing instead of catching. Pictured above is Brady, with 2 nice fish that we caught.

Evening Bites

Today I had Doug, Dale, Will, Larry, and Larry Jr. Lubs. We left the dock at 3:30 and had a limit of 24 walleye that weighed 70 pounds by 8:oo. The fishing was fast and furious to say the least. The fish that we caught where in 16 to 5 feet of water on crib reef.
